Luciano Castillo

Luciano is the Kenninger Chair Professor of Renewable Energy & Power Systems at Purdue University and a nationally recognized leader in renewable energy research. His research focuses on turbulence, renewable energy, and bioengineering, with more than 100 publications, multiple edited books, and several co-authored patents. Luciano has delivered keynote and distinguished lectures internationally on wind energy and currently serves as Associate Editor of Wind Engineering & Science while contributing to scientific committees across Europe.

Karl Holland

Jhon J. Quiñones is a Postdoctoral Researcher in the Algorithms group at TU Delft’s Faculty of Electrical Engineering, Mathematics and Computer Science. He earned his B.Sc. in Mechanical Engineering from Universidad Industrial de Santander and his M.Sc. from Universidad de los Andes in Colombia before completing his Ph.D. in Mechanical Engineering at Purdue University as a Fulbright Fellow in 2023.

His research focuses on AI/ML, physics-based modeling, and optimization for renewable energy forecasting, energy security, and distributed energy systems. He has contributed to turbulence modeling for wind energy and environmental flows and has led industrial R&D initiatives that bridge simulation and AI with real-world engineering solutions. He is the author of multiple peer-reviewed publications and co-inventor on two U.S. patents.
